It is in keeping with the National Security Archive's mission to expand and enhance public discourse regarding foreign, intelligence and economic policy. Unless particular materials are specifically restricted as noted on the site, it is the National Security Archive's policy to encourage reproduction and distribution of the materials posted on our site. Your use of this site indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

License to Use Materials Posted On Web Site

You may copy, reproduce and distribute materials from this site pursuant to this nonexclusive, limited license, provided that:

Electronic Mailing List and Privacy

If you are interested in receiving news from the National Security Archive, you may request to be placed on our Electronic Mailing List. We ask for your email address so that we can send news to you. In addition, we use the list to send an annual solicitation for contributions to support the work of the National Security Archive. We do not sell, rent or share our mailing list. In the event you wish to update or delete an email address in our possession please contact nsarchiv@gwu.edu to make those changes.

Donor Privacy Policy

The National Security Archive Fund, Inc., (the “Archive”) deeply values the contributions of the many individuals and charitable foundations that support our work.  To protect the privacy of our donors, the Archive will not sell, trade or share donor contact information that it collects with any other organizations and will not send mailings on behalf of other organizations.  If a donor wishes to remain anonymous, they have the option for their gift to be listed as an anonymous donation on or excluded from any list of donors that the Archive may publish, except to the extent that the law requires the Archive to maintain or disclose donor information.  This policy may be updated from time to time. 

Limitation of Liability

The National Security Archive site includes information about the Freedom of Information Act and other laws relating to access to government information.
