Biographical Sketches (New staff/consultants as of November 16, 1994) JEFFREY R. BOTKIN, M.D., M.P.H. Consultant Jeffrey R. Botkin, M.D, M.P.H., has appointments as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Adjunct Associate Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Medical Ethics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. His professional activities include a position as Medical Director of the Medical/Surgical Unit at Primary Children's Medical Center and Director of the Genetic Science in Society Program at the University of Utah Center for Human Genome Research. Dr. Botkin chairs the Bioethics Committee for Primary Children's Medical Center and is chair of the Genetics Advisory Committee for the Utah State Department of Health. Dr. Botkin is trained as a general pediatrician with an M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. He has completed a fellowship in Law, Ethics, and Health from Johns Hopkins in collaboration with the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. Dr. Botkin's primary research interests are ethical issues in human genetics and ethical issues in pediatrics.
