Attachment 14 Charles A. Keller, Declassification Officer, February 5, 1948 Declassification Branch L.F. Spalding, Insurance Branch REVIEW OF DOCUMENT SYMBOL: AECV-4 Returned herewith is document entitled "Biochemical Studies Relating to the Effects of Radiation and Metals" by Samuel Schwartz. We have reviewed this document from a non-technical insurance claims point of view and although it is conceivable that the contents thereof might arouse some claim consciousness on the part of former employees we are unable to predict that the Commission's interests would be unjustifiably prejudiced by its publication. However, in the event latent disabilities due to the exposures reported in this document should result in publicity similar to that which arose out of the "radium dial" industry, the public relations section would be involved. Since we have been conferring with Dr. Holland regarding certain claims similar in nature to some of the exposures reported in this document we suggest that he might be interested in reviewing it if you have no reason to the contrary. 1 Attachment Copy of Document L.F.
